Motherby House is in an ideal location for access to a huge variety of outdoor activities. Your host, having previously worked as an instructor in outdoor activities, possesses a sound knowledge of the area which he is eager to share with you.

Ullswater, one of the Lake District’s most beautiful Lakes is just 4 miles away, ideal for canoeing, sailing, windsurfing or take a ride on one of the Lake Steamers and enjoy the panoramic views.
The High Fells in the area include the Helvellyn range, popular with walkers climbers and mountain bikers.

We are situated on the Coast to Coast cycle way and are happy to provide secure storage for your cycles.
